Annual Capitol Hill Community 4th of July Parade

The 21th annual Capitol Hill Community 4th of July Parade is a local tradition that is considered one of Washington, DC's best events. We are pleased to announce that we'll be able to hold our traditional parade on Capitol Hill's Barracks Row this year. Get your groups together and join in on the fun!

Capitol Hill July 4th Parade Information for Marchers

8:30 am: Cars line up facing north under the bridge at 8th and Virginia Ave SE - require proof of insurance

9:00 am: Marchers point of contact (POC) checks in with organizer - Phil/Christine

9:45 am: All marchers in place under the bridge - you will be given numbers so you know which order you will march in.

10:00 am: Parade starts promptly with United States Marine Drum and Bugle Corps

10:02 am: Naval Lodge starts followed by local Politicians (they need to go first so they can get to other parades/celebrations)

10:05 am: Rest of the Parade marchers patiently await their turn as guided by the organizer. Reminder that the later you go the more spectators are lined up to see you!

Parade route goes north on 8th Street SE and ends at the Eastern Market Metro Plaza on 8th and D Sts SE.

12 pm: Marchers disband - please make the left onto D St and the end of the parade route to get off 8th Street so the marchers behind you can continue marching.
